CFGC Wins Club of the Year
The Central Florida Gator Club (CFGC) was recently recognized as Large Club of the Year by its parent organization, the University of Florida Alumni Association (UFAA).
The Club, which represents University of Florida Alumni in Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties, was honored at the University’s Forward Florida event in Gainesville, September 9th.
In addition to the Large Club of the Year honor, the CFGC received the award for Best Overall Event for it’s annual Gator Gala and Immediate Past President Rob Rogers was presented with the Region 4 RVP award. The Gator Gala, held this past February at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center, raised funds for the club’s local scholarship program.
“We were very honored to recognized for our work in the Central Florida community, “ said CFGC President Lauren Gustafson. “Our Board is made up of proud Gator alumni and supporters who spend their time creating programs to help support the University’s mission and raise money for our scholarship program.”
The Club hosts events throughout the year and awards at least $18,000 in scholarships to the brightest and most promising high school students in Central Florida attending the University of Florida.
